Store Manager, Self-Storage — Full-Time (North Haven, CT)

Drive-Up Storage is hiring a full-time Store Manager to run our North Haven, CT self-storage facility. This is an on-site role with a set schedule — no late nights — and includes some Saturday and/or Sunday day shifts. Pay starts at $24.00 per hour, with a bonus program, health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and an employee discount.

Day to day, you run the property. You greet walk-ins and phone leads, show units, and close rentals. You market the site locally and keep track of what nearby storage facilities are charging and promoting so we can price and advertise competitively. You handle cash and check payments, make the daily bank deposit at a bank a short drive from the property, and keep expenses within budget. You follow up with tenants whose accounts are past due, run unit audits, and conduct auctions on long-overdue accounts.

You also keep the place clean and presentable: sweeping, mopping, cleaning out vacated units, and light maintenance and general upkeep. Expect to be on your feet for several hours at a time and to lift up to 25 lbs.

Success in the first few months looks like: occupancy and rental activity moving up, deposits and paperwork accurate and on time, delinquent accounts worked consistently, and a facility that looks clean every day.

Prior self-storage experience is a plus but not required. We welcome applicants with retail, sales, leasing, or operations management backgrounds. Managers who want it can eventually rotate between multiple sites and take on more responsibility.

What we need

• Management or supervisory experience in retail, leasing, or an operations environment
• Sales experience with a track record of generating and closing leads
• Strong customer service and clear verbal and written communication
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for daily bank deposits
• Available for day shifts including some Saturday and/or Sunday shifts
• Able to stand for several hours at a time and lift 25 lbs
• Willing and able to do light maintenance and cleaning (sweeping, mopping, cleaning units)
